9-year-old Evan Rawls Boy With A 142 IQ Joins Mensa

A 9-year-old Whitehaven boy with a 142 IQ becomes the latest member of Mensa.

Mensa is the largest and oldest IQ society in the world.

Evan Rawls is a student at John P. Freeman Elementary. To get into Mensa, you need an IQ of around 130.

Evan met that requirement at eight years old. He said his greatest accomplishment makes him feel like he can pursue any dream.

“It makes me feel like that because if I’m a 9-year-old that can get into Mensa, imagine the things I can do in the future,” said Evan Rawls. “You can rise higher than what you think you can.”

“I hope that other kids can take away knowing that just because you come from a certain area or you’re a particular color, that does not determine the height that you can extend to,” said Shaakira Hargrow, Evan’s mother.

When FOX13 asked Evan what he wants to be when he grows up, he said he’s still trying to figure that out, but he loves science.
