In the working world, most of us have a major hustle, as well as a side hustle, second job, or pastime.
Summer Walker, the R&B superstar, was no exception until this past year.
Until she became famous, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter supported herself by running a cleaning service, while singing was her side job, hobby, and love.
Summer’s main business and passion is singing and now that she has finally achieved the success she so richly deserves.
Summer Walker’s cleaning service was her full-time paid employment less than two years before she launched her debut album in October 2019.
Summer secretly misses the isolation of scrubbing, despite the fact that music is her life.
In a flash, summer turned from cleaning to singing.
Summer So Clean was the name of her company, and she had an Instagram account for it, @summersoclean.
Summer’s Instagram account stated that she offers cleaning services for both business and residential properties.
According to The Face, she also organized laundry and closets, cleaned bathrooms, and cleaned out refrigerators.
Summer snapped mirror pictures while wearing rubber yellow gloves, posted before-and-after films, and flaunted her impeccable organizational skills on her company’s Instagram.
She reportedly paid $25 per hour for her services, and despite the fact that she’s now selling out performances (and making a lot of money), the singer told The Face she misses the aroma of cleaning product Fabuloso, which she described as “fruity candy.”
Summer’s catalogue has been streamed 2.5 billion times worldwide, according to Ebony, and she has a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for her hit track “Come Thru” as well as a double-platinum one for her leading single, “Playing Games.” It may seem as if young Summer became famous overnight, but let’s face it: Summer has clearly found tremendous success.
She completed her First and Last Tour for “Over It” in December 2019, which lasted six weeks and sold out across the United Kingdom and the United States. She also recently won the Soul Train Music Award for Best New Artist and is set to perform at Coachella, one of the world’s largest music festivals, in April 2020.
Summer Walker achieved what we all want to in life: she turned her passion for singing and performing into a full-time job.
While it appears that the Las Vegas, Nevada native enjoyed cleaning and organizing, we’re glad Summer chose to make performance her full-time job.
For sure, everybody’s looking forward to the next release.
