50 Cent Considers Making a New ‘Cosby Show’ and Praises Phylicia Rashad

50 Cent has come up with another concept for a new program. This one, on the other hand, would be more of a reboot.

In recent years, 50 Cent has become more active in the television industry, starring in and executive producing the blockbuster Starz crime thriller Power. Power Book II, a spin-off, was announced in 2020, followed by Power Book III: Raising Kanan, a second spin-off.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan skips ahead in time from the events of Power, focusing on Kanan’s early life as a young heroin dealer in New York City (played by 50 Cent in Power).

He’s also hinted that Power Book IV: Force, the third spin-off in the Power universe, will be released soon.

On Dec. 20, the rapper shared two Instagram photographs, one of the casts of “The Cosby Show” and the other of Geoffrey Owens, who portrayed Elvin Huxtable, Sondra Huxtable’s boyfriend. 50 Cent not only mentioned a prospective remake series of the show in the post, but he also said a few kind things about Phylicia Rashad, who played Bill Cosby’s character’s wife on the show.

He wrote, “I have had a crush on @phyliciarashad for forever I don’t know, she can talk with her eyes. she was just it, I think it was the Cosby show it was the only representation of black love on Tv. I gotta make us a new one. GLG GreenLightGang.”

Many people supported the notion of creating another show like “The Cosby Show,” claiming that it would restore the positive depiction of African-Americans on television. One said, “More than black love Cosby show gave everyone goals to shoot for! Love, family, careers.

Another fan wrote, “Definitely need positive black images, f–k them drug dealers stories,” referring to 50’s Cent’s other shows like the “Power” franchise and now “BMF.”

Others applauded his decision to include Owens in his “Power Book II: Ghost” series. Someone took a photo of Owens working at the Trader Joe’s grocery shop in 2018 and shared it on the internet. Many admirers who remembered his work on television offered him love rather than shame him, which led to him being cast in the sequel to “Power.”

After someone attempted to “shame him” by taking a photo of him, 50 shared a comment about 50 helping Owens restore his career and get more acting opportunities.  In the caption of the report, 50 wrote, “Yeah The underdog back on Top @iamgeoffreyowens GHOST GLGGreenLightGang.”

One fan wrote, “you’re amazing for that. Always putting people on and giving them a chance. You said Top 10 dead or alive, I’m saying you’re Top 5!!!”

Singer and reality TV star, Kandi Burruss said, “I was just thinking that when I watched the episode. It’s dope that you are providing an opportunity for so many people. @iamgeoffreyowens is doing a great job on there.”
