At a signing event over the weekend, NBA icon Allen Iverson got emotional after a young admirer presented him with a poster depicting him with the late Kobe Bryant.
While Iverson was in Texas, the cool moment was captured on camera.
You can see in the video that after the boy handed him the photo of the two basketball players on the court, he took a moment to admire it.
“Damn, whose is this?!” Iverson said of the photo. “This yours?!”
“Man, you going to give me one? You got another one for me? Man, I need one of these!”
Iverson did finally sign the piece. After that, he advised the youngster to always listen to his parents.
Meanwhile, Allen’s big rivalry with Kobe has been well documented — the two were both selected in the 1996 draft class — and the two have competed against each other for decades.
In the 2001 NBA Finals, Bryant, who spent his whole career with the Lakers, faced AI’s 76ers, and while The Answer was able to take a game from Shaq/Kobe, The series ended in a 4-1 defeat for Philadelphia.
Since Kobe’s death in 2020, Iverson has posted numerous tributes to him thanking him frequently and expressing his longing for his time with the Mamba.
