Unfortunately, we live in a world that is rife with heinous human beings. It’s even worse that some of those horrible people will go on to become judges, which means they’ll be awful people in a position to pass judgment on other people’s terribleness or non-terribleness.
Meet Michigan’s 31st District Judge Alexis G. Krot. Krot is a dreadful individual.
It wouldn’t be unexpected if Krot’s morning workout routine included bouncing up and down on a mound of pups. When Krot says, “It’s like stealing candy from a baby,” she’s referring to her own personal experience. (She presumably snatches it and eats it right in front of them after pretending to give it back and snatching it a few hundred more times.) Krot bathes in the natural oils of endangered species if she bathes at all.
In a court of law, Krot is a judge of other persons.
Burhan Chowdhury, 72, of Hamtramck, Michigan, appeared in a virtual state court hearing via Zoom on Monday to answer for failing “to keep the fence, pathway, sidewalk, or alley free of trees, leaves” in front of his home, according to the Washington Post. “Neighbors probably complained and took the image that was submitted to the city,” Chowdhury added.
This narrative already smells like Karen antics. Neighbors who could have just assisted an elderly man in keeping his front yard in order—or, at the very least, kept their mouths shut about it—opted instead to snitch on him, including taking pictures of his unkempt yard to give to law officials.
Krot, on the other hand, is still the biggest Karen of them all. Karen is a particularly vicious species, the kind who presumably enjoys dropping Monopoly money into the buckets of homeless people before calling the cops to have them removed.
Shibbir Chowdhury, Chowdhury’s son, told the Post that his father was diagnosed with cancer in his lymph nodes in February 2019. He said he usually helps keep his father’s home together, but he traveled to Bangladesh, where the family is from, for three months last year.
In reality, Chowdhury can be heard fighting to breathe in the Zoom video as he tries to explain to Krot that he is “extremely weak” and unable to keep the yard tidy on his own owing to his illness.
So how does Krot react to a septuagenarian who is physically frail and attempting to explain to her that he is a full-fledged cancer patient?
“You should be ashamed of yourself!” Krot said to Chowdhury. “If I could give you jail time on this, I would.”
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Chowdhury is a brown man with a loud South Asian accent (which, to white people, merely means Arab coming from a melanated person), and Krot looks like every white woman you’ve ever seen humping a Trump poster at a MAGA rally. But don’t worry, I’m sure her being a jerk to an elderly woman she’d throw in jail for non-criminal reasons has nothing to do with it.
When Chowdhury sought to stress that he is “extremely sick,” Krot remained unconvinced, saying that the state of his yard was inexcusable.
“The neighbors should not have to look at that,” she said, adding, again, that “You should be ashamed of yourself!”
Shibbir informed the Post that he would pay the fine and that his father’s house was in good condition at the time.
Meanwhile, Krot continues to be a horrible, disgusting, and sad human being.
