Queshonda Kudaisi, an expecting mother and doctorate student at the University of South Florida, tested positive for COVID-19 in August. In a recent tweet, she explained, “I thought the baby and I wouldn’t survive, or that I would have to push back my graduation.”
Her complete Twitter post reads:
“In August I contracted COVID while pregnant. I thought the baby and I wouldn’t survive, or that I would have to push back my graduation. However, yesterday proved me wrong. I was discharged from the hospital with a healthy baby girl at 12 pm and attended graduation at 6 pm #PhDMom“
Kudaisi not only overcame the virus, but also successfully defended her dissertation research in the university’s department of curriculum, instruction, and learning in October, earning the title of Dr. Queshonda Kudaisi.
On the same day as her graduation ceremony, she was discharged from the hospital with her healthy baby girl.
Congratulations on your gorgeous bundle of joy and academic excellence, Dr. Kudaisi.
Cheers to good health, academic achievement, and parenthood.
