Keyshia Cole is opening out about her relationship with Eve.

According to Atlanta Black Star, on the singer’s TV One Uncensored show, which aired Sunday, Feb. 6, Cole discusses how her friendship with the “Blow Ya Mind” rapper came to an end.

A bystander took the rapper’s bag as she and Eve were out on the town, according to the singer.

“I turned around and slapped the girl,” she recounted in the video posted to TV One’s Instagram account. “Eve was really pissed off about that and we stopped hanging out.”

Cole claimed she was initially perplexed by Eve’s hatred for her actions and wondered why she was so unhappy.

“I just slapped someone for you, what the f**k is this?” she said in the video. “But it taught me a lot.”

The “Love” singer goes on to say that the situation might have had a terrible impact on both her and Eve and that she didn’t have to go to all that trouble.

“I should have left that to security,” she confesses in the clip. “Somebody get’s paid for that, you know what I mean?”

The singer explained that her reaction to the incident was influenced by her Oakland upbringing.

“When I came straight from Oakland, it was still in me,” she said, adding that when “disrespect” would happen in her neighborhood, the response was to fight. “It took a long time [for me] to learn to not put my hands on people.”

“After everything that has happened within the last year and a half, I never spoke about anything,” she said. “So, I just wanted to touch on some things.”

While the present state of Cole and Eve’s relationship is unknown, Cole’s attitude on life is unmistakable.

“Life is really not promised,” she tells Essence. “We spend so much time trying to accomplish so many things to fulfill those in our lives, but we also have to make sure that we make ourselves happy as well and be there for our families and children and the people who deserve our love.”
